City nets 145M tax collections in 3 months

BAGUIO CITY – in a fitting ceremony Monday (March 26), City officials headed by Mayor Mauricio Domogan and Vice-Mayor Daniel Farinas expressed satisfaction over the tax collection campaign of the City Treasury Office (CTO) here.

In a report submitted by City Treasurer Thelma Manaois to the mayor, a total of P143,367,901.02 has already been collected by the said office representing gross business tax collections as of march 20.

With this, the CTO has named the top ten Business Taxpayers of the city for 2012.

City adopts non-monetary compensation for overtime work

Instead of pay, city employees rendering overtime work will now be paid with compensatory overtime credit (COC) excusing them from work for a period equal to or 1.5 times more than the hours of overtime work rendered.
Mayor Mauricio Domogan recently signed Administrative Order 37 ordering the adoption of the non-monetary remuneration for overtime services as an austerity measure in the local government.

This, leading to a judgment upon compromise penned by Municipal Trial Court Branch 1 presiding judge Robert Mabalot, ending a possible long-drawn legal battle that would mean more ‘cash out’ than ‘in’ for both quarters.

city to intensify garbage fee collection in barangays

BAGUIO CITY – The city government will intensify the collection of garbage fees in the barangays by allowing a barangay-based collection system.
Mayor Mauricio Domogan who issued Administrative Order No. 132 for this purpose said this scheme will streamline the collection process to make it more efficient with the end in view of helping the barangays generate resources to support their own waste management programs.
The mayor’s order establised the guidelines for the barangay-based collection system pursuant to the city’s tax ordinance.

pedestrian lane reduction along session road to be made permanent

BAGUIO CITY – The reduced number of pedestrian lanes along Session Road will soon become permanent.
Mayor Mauricio Domogan said the Traffic and Transportation Management Council (TTMC) has recommended the permanent adoption of the closure of pedestrian walks along Session Road particularly those across Porta Vaga to National Life Building and McDonalds to Philippine National Bank (PNB) after the month-long experiment bore positive results on the traffic condition in the area.
