The delivery of basic health services is a priority thrust of the local Government of Baguio. The support of local executives, legislative body partner agencies and other government organization in active collaboration continously strive to provide quality services to the people. To date 16 Sentrong Sigla accredited Health Centers and 10 satellite clinics are strategically located in the different barangays to cater to the needs of the community.
For the past years, the Health Services Office (Baguio Health Department) was able to respond aggressively to the health concern and situation besetting the City. Many challenges remains especially the threat of emerging, re-emerging diseases, and lifestyle-related. But with the support of other stake holders, an accessible, available and affordable service remains to be the prime consideration.
Overall the health status of the citizenry still leave much room for improvement as the Office continue to sustain existing programs and projects as well as institute necessary interventions.

With the available resources, the Baguio Health Department is tasked in the promotion and maintenance of health and prevention of diseases through the provision of effective and efficient health services by unified committed and competent health workers to the empowered community in partnership with GO's and NGO's
- Promote, protect and maintain the health of the citizenry
- Prevent and control communicable and non-communicable diseases by increasing awarenes and advocacy through IEC on the causes, risk factors and transmission
- Solicit participation of various sectors from planning to implementation of health programs.
- Prepare and strengthen the community to be self-reliant and be able to satisfy their health needs.
- Maternal and Child Health - provide pre-natal care, post-natal care, immunization of children agains vaccine against vaccine-preventable diseases like Hepatitis, TB, Polio, Diphtheris, Tetanus, and Measles. Immunization of mothers against Tetanus, Treatment of concomitant or incidental diseases like ARI, Anemia, malnutrition, Diarrhea, and other illnesses.
- Dental Services - promotion of good oral hygiene, rehabilitation curative aspects on dental problem.
- City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit - monitoring and surveillance of communicable diseases.
- Environmental Sanitation Services - charged with the supervision of the sanitation of public and private premises, public eating-places, water sanitation and the sanitary condition of the market etc.
- Vital Health Statistics - collection, recording, tabulation, interpretation and publication of essential facts of births, marriages, deaths and reportable diseases.
- Public Health Nursing Services - nursing and midwifery services in the health centers, dispensary and special clinics (chest, social hygiene clinics and nutrition clinic)
- Public Health Laboratory Services - microscopy and blood chemistry, special diagnostics procedure like HIV/AIDS screening, TyphiDot.
- National TB Control Program - implementation of anti-TB scheme integrated into the community health structure and equipped to control Tuberculosis in a systematic and sustainable management. Includes sputum microscopy, case-finding and treatment.
- Health Education and Promtion Services - a service component of health programs/projects to create a supportive environment for positive behavior change and healthy lifestyle through tri-media approach.
- Social Hygiene and Skin Clinic - concerned with the prevention and control of STD/HIV/AIDS by requiring medical examination and regular check-up of all male and female commercial sex workers; surveillance of sex workers. Information Education Campaigns coupled with FP motivation and clinical services.
- Nutrition Health Services - concerned with the implementation and coordination of the various components of the Philippine Plan of Action on Nutrition (PPAN) and delivery of nutrition services involving detection, treatment and control of malnutrition related diseases.
- Population Program Services - conducts counselling seminars on family planning, responsible parenthood, reproductive health, gender sensitivity, adolescent health, and POPDEV integration.
- Emergency Medical Services (EMS) - on call for 24 hrs daily to provide pre-hospital emergency acute management to trauma and medical emergencies.
- Medico-Legal - autopsy, physical examination of victim of abuse, trauma, accidents etc.
