Assessment of BPOC, last stage for the search for best performing barangay
The city is still to assess and evaluate the Barangay Peace and Order Committee (BPOC) of all the barangays in the city of Baguio which is one component for this year’s search for best performing barangays 2017.
Previously, the assessment team conducted an on-site visitation to all the barangays evaluating and validating their performances on barangay administration and governance; environmental management; social services; health, wellness and sanitation services; lupon tagapamayapa incentive awards (LTIA) and competitive edge.
Recently, mayor Mauricio Domogan formed a search committee for the outstanding BPOC who will be conducting table assessment and on-site visitation and validation at the barangays.
Starting July 11, the team will evaluate and validate their BPOC’s accomplishment and will end August 11.
The barangays will be evaluated based on the composition of their BPOC, conduct of regular meeting, proposed policies of the BPOC approved by the sangguniang barangay, presence of barangay Peace and Order and Public Safety Plan (POPSP) and its attainability, outcome of the project implementation in crime prevention, service delivery performance like absence of crime incidents in their barangay, tanod regular ronda of foot patrol, among others.
Monitoring the performances of the barangays aim to give overall and special awards to the best performing barangays and at the same time identify the strength and limitations of each barangays for improvement.
Apart from the three major winners for the search for best performing barangays, nine special awards will also be given to barangays with best in LTIA, child friendly, women, senior citizen, person with disability (PWD), environment, sanitation, nutrition and BPOC.
