Labor summit in city, set
Members of the city’s labor sector are invited to attend a Labor Summit slated on October 4 at the City hall multipurpose hall from 1 pm to 5 pm conducted by the office of councilor Arthur Allad-iw.
Allad-iw, chair of the city council’s committee on employment, livelihood, cooperatives and persons with disabilities, said the half-day activity aims to assemble those from the labor community in one venue to hear and collate their issues and concerns.
“Inputs and suggestions will also be gathered that may guide my committee for future legislations that protect and promote the rights of labor as mandated by law,” he explained.
Allad-iw will deliver the program’s welcome and opening messages while a representative from the Department of Labor and Employment will speak on policies related to contractualization and give updates on the status of contractualization in the Summer Capital.
A consultation and open forum will then ensue followed by an assessment of the outputs of participants by the councilor’s staff.
The event’s closing remarks will be given by one of the city council members.-gaby keith
